    Abstract:

    Mechanism synthesis of product development mainly depends on engineering experience and the application of mechanism at present. Randomness innovation and few solutions are common phenomena. In order to design new machines by utilizing patent resources, the Function Trimming Method of TRIZ was adopted to take advantage of patent information during concept design. Catalog Design was employed to cover exhaustively possible innovative solutions. The patent oriented and competitive patent circumvented process model of re-innovating mechanism synthesis was proposed on the basis of Trimming and Catalog Design. The application example, which obtained many solutions on the basis of trimming the existing patent, indicates that this process model can feasibly direct the mechanism synthesis in the innovative design of products.
