    Abstract:

This paper presented the results of experimental studies on reinforced concrete columns strengthened with steel fiber cement mortar with mesh reinforcement (SFMMR) under the combination of axial load and bending moment.A total of eight nearly full-size specimens with rectangular cross section were prepared and tested under eccentric compressive loading up to failure. The overall length of specimens with two haunched heads was 1 200 mm.Different wire mesh spacing and two eccentricities of 70 mm and 150 mm were investigated. The effects of these parameters of the ultimate load and cracking behavior of the columns as well as the variation of longitudinal strains on different faces of the columns were studied. The results demonstrated a significant enhancement of the performance of strengthened columns, compared with unstrengthened columns.
