Effect of Alternating Magnetic Field on Electrochemical Nitrogen Reduction(NRR)Performance of M-BTC Materials

    Abstract:

    In this paper,four kinds of MOFs catalysts were synthesized by hydrothermal method. The composi? tion and microstructure of the catalysts were characterized by XRD,SEM and IR,respectively. Then,the NRR ac? tivity of the catalysts was studied. The results showed that Fe-BTC had the highest ammonia yield and Faraday effi? ciency at -0.376 V(vs.RHE)and 80oC,with values of 3.63×10-10 mol s-1 cm-2 and 0.31%,respectively. Under constant voltage,when the alternating magnetic field intensity is 4.355 mT,frequency is 50 kHz,the catalyst ammonia production rate and efficiency of Faraday′s largest,were 3.61×10-9 mol s-1 cm-2 and 5.67%,respectively.This phe? nomenon is mainly due to the increase of the adsorption amount of N2 on the Fe-BTC surface by the alternating mag? netic field,and the superposition of the induced electromotive force generated by the alternating magnetic field and the electric potential of the electric field itself,which provides extra energy for the NRR reaction.
